Lime Tree Gallery presents a solo exhibition by Steven Lindsay

Steven Lindsay has built a considerable reputation in only a few years as a professional painter. His challenging and beautifully painted figures have become widely collected, and he was the only featured artist in the London Underground poster campaign for the Affordable Art Fair in 2015 and the Hampstead Heath campaign in 2016.
Based in Glasgow, Steven spent many years in the music industry as a successful songwriter/musician, before returning to his first love, painting, in 2010. Promoted from the start by Lime Tree Gallery, he has become a main attraction at several London Art Fairs, but this exhibition is his first London solo show.

This is a chance to see an artist in his ascendancy who, although obviously from the European figurative tradition, brings an entirely new and exciting take on that genre. His drawing and brushwork is classical, yet these are utterly modern works. Sometimes demanding, sometimes humorous, always beautifully executed. The work displays a masterly control of light and composition.

Why 'State of Flux'? Steven says 'I like how it suggests change, continuous passage, flow, movement, so I feel it's relevant to my work, as well as e reflecting the constantly changing, uncertain times we're living in.'
