Lahd Gallery is proud to present its Summer Olympics Art Exhibtion, scheduled to be held on [date to be confirmed], during the London 2012 Games. The gallery will exhibit the paintings of several emerging artists from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and will form a segment of cultural activities for the London Olympics.

The promotional activity before the exhibition is aimed at promoting the Olympic spirit, propagating the Olympic culture and creating a good atmosphere during the Olympics. All art works on display give full expression to the unremitting exploration of art by artists expressing their love for the world and admiration for the Olympic culture.

Contemporary art from the MENA region is among the fastest-growing in the world, attracting not just domestic but international art collectors. At the same time, there has been an increasing appreciation in the range and complexities of MENA's evolving visual arts sector, which is establishing a body of work distinctive from that of the West while also increasingly engaging and drawing upon developments in the US and Europe.

Lahd Gallery's Summer Olympics Art Exhibition will build upon these, providing an unprecedented channel and opportunity for dialogue between both contemporary Middle Eastern artists, based here and abroad, in which traditional and contemporary approaches will collide. This provides a basis for communication in which artists, commentators and critics can learn from one another in all areas of artistic expression.
