Free. All Welcome.

Join us for the launch of Mind Your Heads, a new trio of performances and installation by artist Marcia Farquhar. Mind Your Heads will encompass 3 conjoined wheelie bins that will nomadically manoeuvre throughout the friary and on designated occasions be activated by the artist as she conducts a three-way conversation with herselves. As well as hosting the divided self these makeshift pulpits will provide spaces from which three ideologically opposed speakers will move further and closer to each other in space, time and paradoxical speech.

Mistaken Presence is a 12-month curated project in a 13th century friary, widely regarded as one of the earliest surviving Franciscan friary churches in Europe. Mind Your Heads by Marcia Farquhar is the first in a series of new commissions that re-look at the past histories of the friary building and its original province.

Throughout the exhibition, audiences will be able to access the pulpits as speakers for their own discussions, debates and speeches.

Exhibition continues to 10th June 2012.
