Women In Art Fair: Fair Play

Rating

We are delighted to announce the opening Fair Play, the inaugural exhibition by Women in Art Fair, a new initiative dedicated to redressing the gender imbalance in the art industry.  Exploring notions of ‘femininity’ though the work of twelve women artists, the exhibition will take place at Gallery Elena Shchukina from 15 to 24 March 2018.

In Fair Play, each artist offers a unique perspective on the female experience and what it means to be a woman artist today. From the playful manipulation of traditionally feminine materials, to the subtle subversion of representations of women’s bodies and sexuality, the works exhibited present femininity as nuanced and multifaceted.

Fair Play seeks to expand our understanding of what femininity means, to celebrate our diversity, and to create a space in which multiple voices can come together in a fruitful and positive exchange of ideas on issues facing women in art today.
