An interest in the brain, neuroplasticity, the wisdom traditions and methods to train and re-wire evolving neural pathways, motivates this work. The desire is to register unadorned, an open and primary experience of time and being. Using household recycling and studio debris, rudimentary drawing and collage, it aims to make present a quiet witnessing of ordinary consciousness. Each work tries to set a trap to harness the moment by moment unfolding of thought, sensation, perception, feeling and to "release" things to be experienced directly, as they are. A just-is-ness. The aim is to map that awareness as it engages, pauses, breathes, hesitates, dwells and passes on, The mind's eye journey.
