"Travels with Copper and Wax" is a new exhibition by Norman Ackroyd CBE RA one of Britain's leading landscape artists working with watercolour and etching.

The exhibition will offer a rare opportunity to see both Ackroyd's early and recent etchings, giving a unique perspective of his work. The show brings together two distinct areas; the first being his 'intimate English landscapes' from the early 1990s, and secondly 'the edge', his dramatic monochrome landscapes based on the harsh coastlines, outcrops of rock and the wild seas of the north of Scotland and the rest of Ireland.

“Etching, at its best, is simply another but very beautiful drawing medium. It demands absolute simplicity of intent. Working with sumptuous copper, inks, papers and acids to hopefully achieve this clarity, is endlessly satisfying and limitless. This exhibition shows much recent work, but also includes some images from previous decades.” Norman Ackroyd
