Tommaso Corvi-Mora is pleased to present a new site-specific work by California-based artist Jim Isermann. For his fifth solo show at the gallery, the artist has covered the walls of the exhibition space with a large vinyl installation characteristic of his practice.
The work is a visual algorithm; it consists of a geometric pattern inspired by modernist design. Jim Isermann has been working with vinyl for the last 15 years as his practice has continued to explore the interrelationship of art and design.
Born in 1955 in Winsconsin, Jim Isermann lives in Palms Springs, California. Recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in 1984, he has since exhibited extensively across Europe and the USA. In recent years, Isermann has been commissioned for site-specific works by prestigious public institutions including the Ohio State University (2012), the MOCA, Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (2011) and the Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, Texas (2010).
